Abstract. The life path, the teaching and scientific work of the outstanding Bulgarian scientist in the field of inorganic chemistry Prof. Dr. Elena Kirkova are presented. A brief review of her now classic textbooks on general and inorganic chemistry, her main achievements in the field of crystallization and co-crystallization processes, her contribution to linking education with scientific research and their application in practice is made.
