Abstract. The family and the child are the focus of all activities, measures and services that have a social character. Some of them are related to family support, and others related to interventions in support of children and the stages of child development that stimulate different areas of development - social, emotional, cognitive-behavioral or physical. The article focuses on the various mechanisms for stimulating the development of the family and the child, through the prism of social work and social activities. The analysis of the practice presents the family
and the child as the main objects of assessment, intervention and impact in the field of social work.
